Only hiring once in a while?

A café, trades shop, or family business doing one or two hires a quarter should not pay $12/month for empty seats. Buy hire packs when you need them — same signed W-4, I-9, and state forms, no monthly minimum.

Pack credits valid 12 months. Lite feature set (no desk ID scan). Identity verification optional at $2.99/verify.

When to switch to a monthly plan — Solo wins on cost for occasional hiring. Lite is for convenience and headroom once you're hiring every month.

Credit on send: one pack credit is used when you send a DayOne Link. If the hire doesn't complete within 30 days, the credit is refunded automatically — no support ticket needed when an offer falls through.

Why subscriber overage looks cheaper: monthly plans include platform access; overage is $15 / 50 packs (~$0.30 each) for active subscribers topping up in bulk. Solo is retail pay-as-you-go with no monthly minimum — you pay more per pack for that flexibility.

Choose your plan

One hire pack = one employee (W-4 + I-9 §1 + state tax withholding) or one contractor W-9. A different unit of sale than per-employee-per-month HRIS pricing — and far below dedicated I-9 platforms.

Price vs risk. Dedicated I-9 vendors often charge $79–95/mo entry tiers plus $8+ per form. NewHirePack Standard at $25/mo covers 50 complete hire packs (~$0.50 each) with signed evidence and §2 tracking. We are honest about what we do not ship yet — see roadmap below. Shipped today vs committed roadmap

We would rather lose a deal honestly than over-promise compliance features. Here is exactly where NewHirePack stands against what WorkBright, Gusto, and BambooHR lead with — and when we close the gaps.

✓ Shipped now

  • Signed W-4, I-9 §1, state withholding, W-9 packs with audit timestamps
  • DayOne Link, I-9 Desk §2 SLA queue, NHR CSV export
  • Per-hire SCCR evidence certificate (forms + identity stamp when used)
  • Work-authorization document fields + expiry captured at in-person §2
  • State new-hire report: 20-day due tracking + CSV export (you upload to the state)
  • Auto Identity — optional remote verification and pre-fill on DayOne Link
  • ID scan at I-9 Desk (Standard+) — OCR data-entry aid, not identity proof

◎ Committed roadmap

  • E-Verify case submission — target Q4 2026, Pro add-on. Required for many state-mandated employers; we know this is table stakes.
  • Remote I-9 §2 (DHS alternative procedure) — target Q1 2027. Today, fully remote hires need in-person §2 or your authorized representative — Auto Identity pre-fill does not satisfy document examination.
  • Work-authorization reverification alerts — target Q1 2027. Expiry dates are stored at §2; automated reminders before EAD/visa lapse is where audit risk accumulates.
  • Auto NHR state filing — 2027. CSV export ships today; direct API submit to state directories is a separate build.
  • Full identity + payroll bank capture — on roadmap.

Best fit today: employers with in-person or hybrid starts who want audit-ready paperwork at a fraction of dedicated I-9 platform cost. Not yet the right fit: fully distributed teams that require remote §2 + E-Verify in one workflow — tell us; E-Verify is our next compliance ship.

Two ways we help with identity

Remote verification and in-person desk scanning solve different problems. NewHirePack keeps them separate so you only pay for what you need.

Auto Identity — remote pre-fill (not §2 examination)

New hire opens their DayOne Link and completes identity verification with photo ID + selfie before filling forms. Verified fields prefill W-4 and I-9 Section 1. HR gets an identity verified stamp on the pack — useful for remote-application fraud, not a substitute for examining originals at §2.

Lite & Standard: $2.99 per successful verify (pay as you go).
Pro: 50 verifications included each month; overage at $2.99.

ID scan at I-9 Desk — in-person

HR photographs the physical List A/B/C document at Section 2 and fields prefill from the scan. HR always confirms against the original document in hand — this is a data-entry aid, not remote identity proof.

Standard & Pro only. Not included on Lite. Not a substitute for examining originals per I-9 rules.

Common questions

Including the three compliance buyers check in the first thirty seconds.

I only hire a few times a year — do I need a monthly plan?
No. NewHirePack Solo — buy packs when you need them: $7 for one hire, $19 for three ($6.33 each), or $29 for five ($5.80 each). Credits stay on your account for 12 months. Same signed forms and I-9 Desk as Lite — no monthly minimum. A credit is used when you send a DayOne Link; if the hire doesn't finish within 30 days, it's refunded automatically. At roughly two hires per month sustained, Lite at $12/mo is cheaper per pack — until then, Solo wins on cost. At one hire/month, Solo is still cheaper; Lite is for always-on convenience without repurchasing.
Is NewHirePack E-Verify?
Not yet — and we will not pretend otherwise. NewHirePack today covers signed I-9 Section 1 (employee attestation), HR Section 2 desk workflow with SLA tracking, and audit-ready evidence packs. E-Verify case submission is our top compliance priority — targeted for Q4 2026 as a Pro add-on. If E-Verify is mandatory for your state or contract today, say so in sales and we will flag you for early access; do not buy NewHirePack expecting E-Verify until that ship date.
Can we complete I-9 Section 2 for a fully remote hire?
Not through NewHirePack alone today. Auto Identity is remote pre-fill of employee data — it does not replace an employer (or authorized representative) physically examining original List A/B/C documents for Section 2. Our ID scan at I-9 Desk is explicitly an in-person data-entry aid after HR examines the original. Remote I-9 under the DHS alternative procedure is on the roadmap for Q1 2027. Until then, remote hires need your authorized rep on site, or a vendor like WorkBright that already ships remote §2.
Do you track expiring work authorization (EAD / visa reverification)?
NewHirePack captures document expiry dates when HR completes Section 2. Automated reverification reminders before authorization lapses — where much of long-term I-9 audit risk lives — are not live yet. Target: Q1 2027. Today you can export hire data via CSV and track expiries in your HRIS or spreadsheet.
What's the difference between state withholding and state new-hire reporting?
They are two separate legal obligations. State tax withholding (included in every hire pack) is the employee's W-4 elections routed to your payroll system. State new-hire reporting is the notice you must file with your state's directory (typically within 20 days of hire) — separate from withholding. NewHirePack tracks NHR due dates and exports a CSV you upload to your state portal. We do not auto-file to state APIs yet (roadmap: 2027).
Why is subscriber overage so much cheaper than Solo packs?
Monthly subscribers already pay a platform fee ($12+/mo) that covers always-on access and included pack allowance. Overage at $15 / 50 packs (~$0.30 each) is bulk top-up pricing for active accounts — not a retail single-hire price. Solo has no monthly minimum: you pay $7 per hire (or less in bundles) for the flexibility to buy only when you need it. Different products, different economics.
What counts as one hire pack?
One completed employee pack (W-4 + I-9 Section 1 + state withholding) or one W-9 contractor pack. Draft packs do not count until the employee finishes and signs.
Does a selfie ID check satisfy I-9 document examination?
No. Auto Identity on the DayOne Link verifies who is completing the remote forms and prefills identity fields — valuable for fraud reduction on remote applications. I-9 Section 2 still requires the employer (or authorized rep) to physically examine original documents unless you use the DHS alternative procedure (not yet in NewHirePack). Our desk ID scan helps HR record what they saw — it is not a substitute for examining originals.
What if an employee skips identity verification?
They complete the pack with manual entry (Basic path). Skipped verification does not consume an identity credit or pay-as-you-go charge. The pack shows identity verification skipped for HR review.
Can Lite customers use ID scanning?
No. ID scan at I-9 Desk requires Standard or Pro. Upgrade anytime — existing hires carry over.
How does annual billing work?
Pay 10 months, get 12 — two months free. Lite $120/yr, Standard $250/yr, Pro $490/yr. Pack allowances reset monthly.
Who is the seller?
NewHirePack for US customers is sold by RCJ Holdings LLC. Invoices and checkout are USD only.
